*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vira Lake in Kyiv, located within a park area, is a popular recreational spot, though it is primarily known as a picturesque body of water pleasant for walking around. Like most small lakes in the capital, Vira warms up well during the summer months due thanks to its relatively shallow depth. The swimming season typically begins in late spring when the water temperature in Kyiv's reservoirs rises above +17∘C. In July and August, given consistently hot weather, the water can reach a comfortable +22 to +24∘C, which is ideal for extended swimming.
Despite the fact that people often gather at lake recreation areas in the summer to cool off, Vira Lake typically does not feature on the official list of city beaches where swimming is authorized and controlled by the authorities. This means that regular water quality checks, which are conducted at approved municipal beaches, may be absent at the lake. Therefore, while locals may use the lake for informal swimming, visitors should exercise caution and be aware that there may be no lifeguard stations or proper infrastructure for safe waterside recreation.
