*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Shkodra, known as Skadarsko Jezero, is the largest lake in the Balkans, shared between Montenegro and Albania. It lies in a lowland area surrounded by mountains and wetlands and is fed by numerous rivers. Because of its size and shallow depth in many parts, the water warms up significantly during summer. In spring, temperatures range from 14 to 18 °C, while in summer they rise to 23–28 °C, sometimes reaching 30 °C near the surface. In autumn, the lake cools to around 17–21 °C, and in winter it usually stays between 8 and 12 °C. The combination of mild climate and clear freshwater makes it ideal for recreation.
Swimming in Lake Shkodra is allowed and very popular, especially on the Montenegrin side near Virpazar and Murići. During July and August, the warm water provides excellent conditions for swimming and other water activities such as kayaking or fishing. The gradual shorelines and sandy areas make access easy and safe. Because of its ecological importance, parts of the lake are protected, so swimming is concentrated in designated zones. The pleasant temperature, scenic surroundings, and biodiversity make Lake Shkodra a highlight of Montenegro’s natural landscape.
