*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Viluni Lagoon (Laguna e Vilunit) in Shkodër County is a shallow, brackish coastal lagoon connected to the northern Adriatic system, and its water temperature follows a clear seasonal pattern. In winter the lagoon typically cools to roughly 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), while spring temperatures rise to around 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as air and sea warming increase. Summer brings the warmest water, often in the 22–28 °C range (72–82 °F) when shallow depths and reduced flushing allow faster heating. Autumn sees a gradual decline, commonly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) as cooler weather and increased exchange with coastal waters lower temperatures again.
Swimming in the lagoon is possible in some open, accessible spots, but it is not the typical recreational choice and is sometimes discouraged or subject to local restrictions. The lagoon’s shallow, muddy bottom, extensive reed beds and sensitive bird habitats make parts of it unsuitable or off-limits for bathing, and water quality can vary with freshwater runoff and tidal exchange. Visitors who wish to swim often prefer nearby Adriatic beaches where deeper, clearer seawater and established facilities provide safer, more comfortable conditions; anyone considering entering the lagoon should follow local guidance and respect conservation rules.
