*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Koman (Liqeni i Komani) is a narrow, reservoir-like lake cut into the mountains of Shkodër County, so its water temperature reflects both alpine shading and deep, moving water. Seasonal surface temperatures typically run from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, rising to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in spring. In summer, sheltered shallows can warm to approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days, while autumn temperatures generally fall back to around 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Local conditions vary with weather, depth, and sun exposure, and shaded canyon sections remain noticeably cooler even in mid-summer.
Swimming in Lake Koman is commonly practiced by visitors and locals in summer when surface temperatures are highest, but it is not formally regulated as a public bathing area. Caution is advised because the lake is a reservoir with boat traffic, steep banks, sudden depth changes and occasional flows related to hydroelectric operations; there are usually no lifeguards or safety infrastructure. Those who choose to swim typically stick to sheltered bays or shorelines on warm days and avoid boat channels, keeping awareness of cold water shock and limited rescue options. Swimming is therefore possible but should be approached with prudence.
