*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Rokosjøen (Norwegian: Rokosjøen) in Innlandet County typically follows the seasonal patterns of small inland Norwegian lakes. In winter the surface commonly freezes or stays close to 0 °C (32 °F), especially during prolonged cold spells. Spring thaw brings temperatures roughly between 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as the ice breaks up. By early summer the surface can warm to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), while the warmest weeks in July and August often see surface temperatures in the 15–22 °C range (59–72 °F), depending on weather and sunlight. During autumn the water cools again to roughly 8–12 °C (46–54 °F) before refreezing in late autumn or early winter.
Swimming in Rokosjøen is generally permitted under Norway’s public access traditions, and many people swim there in summer when surface temperatures are most comfortable. There are no universal bans, but conditions vary: water depth, underwater topography and the absence of lifeguards mean swimmers should exercise caution. Cold-water shock is a real risk outside the warmest months, and ice swimming requires proper safety measures. For organized bathing it is safest to use maintained shore areas or jetties and to heed any local signage about water quality or hazards.
