*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vermundsjøen, a lake in Innlandet County in Norway, shows the typical seasonal variation of inland Norwegian lakes. In spring the surface water usually ranges from around 0 to 8 °C (32 to 46 °F) as snowmelt and cool air persist. Through summer, on warmer and calm days, surface temperatures commonly climb into the 15 to 22 °C range (59 to 72 °F), although deeper layers remain colder. Early autumn sees cooling back into roughly 4 to 15 °C (39 to 59 °F) as air temperatures drop. In winter the lake commonly freezes or approaches 0 °C (32 °F) under ice; swimming in open water at that time is extremely cold and generally impractical without special equipment.
Swimming in Vermundsjøen is generally permitted, reflecting Norway’s broad public access traditions; there are no widespread legal bans on bathing in such lakes. Summer conditions often make casual swimming comfortable for many people, while spring and autumn swims involve significant cold-water exposure and larger risk of cold shock or hypothermia. In winter, ice and near-freezing water make swimming hazardous except for trained, well-equipped individuals practicing winter bathing with safety protocols. As with any natural site, local conditions, water quality and presence of safe access points should be checked before entering the water.
