*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sperillen is a fairly large, deep freshwater lake in the former Buskerud area of Norway, and its surface temperatures reflect the Norwegian climate. In spring (April–May) the water typically ranges from about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) as snowmelt and cool nights keep the lake chilly. Summer (June–August) brings the warmest conditions, with typical surface temperatures around 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) on sunnier days, though the deep parts of the lake remain much colder. In autumn (September–October) temperatures fall again to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F). In winter the surface is often close to freezing and may be covered by ice; surface water tends to be around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where it is not frozen, while deeper water stays near 4 °C year-round.
Swimming at Sperillen (Sperillen) is generally allowed and is a common summer activity where there is public access, but conditions determine suitability. The lake’s depth and northern location mean it warms slowly, so only the warmest summer days are comfortable for prolonged swimming. Boat traffic, sudden weather changes, cold shock and strong undercurrents near outlets are the main safety concerns; there are typically no lifeguards, so swimmers should use caution, wear a wetsuit if needed, and avoid ice swimming without proper precautions and local guidance.
