*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pyasachnik Reservoir (Язовир Пясъчник) typically follows the seasonal temperature pattern of small inland Bulgarian reservoirs. In spring, surface temperatures usually rise from about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as the water responds to warming air and inflows. During summer, when conditions are warm and sunny, surface temperatures commonly reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), with occasional shallow areas warming to around 28 °C (82 °F) in heatwaves. Autumn sees a steady cooling to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) before winter brings much colder water; by late autumn and winter the reservoir can fall to near freezing, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), with ice possible in prolonged cold spells.
Recreational swimming at Pyasachnik is possible in the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable, but local rules and conditions determine whether it is officially permitted. Authorities may restrict access for reasons of water management, safety hazards such as steep banks, sudden depth changes and strong currents near outlets or inflows, and variable water quality or algal growth. Visitors should look for posted signs or local guidance before entering the water and avoid areas close to dam structures; when allowed and monitored, summer months offer the best and safest conditions for swimming.
