*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Vodocha is an artificial reservoir located near the town of Strumica in the southeastern part of North Macedonia, built to provide irrigation water for the surrounding agricultural plains. Situated in a region with a hot Mediterranean-continental climate, the lake's water temperature is highly dependent on seasonal air temperatures. In the cold winter months, the surface water temperature drops to a minimum, typically ranging from 4∘C to 8∘C. However, during the long and often scorching summers, the relatively shallow nature of the lake allows it to warm up considerably, with surface temperatures often reaching a comfortable 23∘C to 26∘C in July and August.
Swimming in Lake Vodocha is not officially permitted and is generally discouraged by local authorities. The reservoir's primary and controlled function is to supply water for irrigation, which makes its level subject to significant fluctuations that can pose safety risks. Furthermore, as an unmonitored water body, it lacks the necessary safety infrastructure, such as designated beaches and lifeguard services, for public bathing. While some locals may informally swim during the hottest days due to the appealing water temperature, the lack of official regulation means this activity is undertaken entirely at one's own risk.
