Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Cherepashyntsi Quarry in the Vinnytsia Oblast is arguably the most famous flooded quarry in the region, often nicknamed the Vinnytsia Maldives due to its clear, turquoise water and sandy-rocky shores surrounded by a pine forest. This is a flooded granite excavation site that reaches depths of up to 100 meters in some places. Thanks to this significant depth and feeding by underground springs, the water remains exceptionally clean. During the peak summer season, in July and August, the surface layers of the water warm up to temperatures quite comfortable for swimming, typically around +22 to +25∘C, which attracts thousands of vacationers.
Swimming opportunities at Cherepashyntsi exist, and they are officially allowed and partially equipped, which is an advantage over many other quarries. Recreational areas have been established on the shores, featuring sandy beaches with convenient, albeit quite steep, entry into the water. There is minimal infrastructure, including rentals for sun loungers and catamarans. It is a popular spot for family holidays, diving, and camping.
However, despite the visual appeal, swimming here requires extreme caution. The quarry is immensely deep, and the depth can sharply increase just a few meters from the shore (up to 6-8 meters), posing a risk even to experienced swimmers. Moreover, abrupt depth changes can cause unpredictable underwater currents and a rapid drop in water temperature, which can trigger cramps. Therefore, one must only use the designated entry points and strictly follow safety rules.
