Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Petryk Lake (actually a large pond) is located near the village of the same name in the Vinnytsia Oblast, formed on the Zhar River. Due to its considerable size, it is one of the popular recreational spots for residents of Vinnytsia and the surrounding areas. During the summer season, especially in July and August, the water in this reservoir, although large, warms up to temperatures comfortable for swimming. It typically ranges between +21 and +24∘C, which creates excellent conditions for swimming and water activities.
Swimming opportunities at Petryk Lake are quite extensive. Its shores often feature recreational areas with gazebos, beaches, and infrastructure for active leisure, such as catamaran or boat rentals. One of the unique features is the presence of a man-made dam with a small waterfall, which attracts visitors by offering something akin to a hydromassage. However, it is important to remember that despite the general appeal, the reservoir has significant depths (up to three meters) in certain places and can have rapid currents, especially near the dam, requiring caution, particularly when swimming with children.
Thus, Petryk Lake is an excellent spot for summer water recreation in the Vinnytsia region. It offers warm water for swimming and various entertainment options. However, due to the large size of the reservoir and natural features, adherence to safety rules is always necessary.
