*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Novi Pazar, located in southwestern Serbia, lies in a valley surrounded by mountains and crossed by the Raška River and several smaller streams. The area has a moderate continental climate with cooler summers due to the nearby highlands, which keeps the water relatively cold throughout the year. In spring, river temperatures range between 8 and 13 °C, while in summer they rise to 18–22 °C in shallow sections. In autumn, the water cools again to about 12–16 °C, and in winter it can drop below 4 °C, with occasional freezing along the banks. These fluctuations reflect the influence of mountain runoff and local rainfall.
Swimming in rivers near Novi Pazar is not officially organized but is possible during the warmest months, especially in July and August when the water becomes more comfortable. Locals sometimes swim or cool off in calmer parts of the Raška River or small reservoirs around the city. However, because the water remains fresh even in midsummer and currents can be unpredictable, swimming is recommended only for experienced swimmers. Most visitors enjoy the riversides for recreation, picnics, and fishing rather than extended bathing.
