Podujevë (Подујево) is located in northern Kosovo, where the Llapi River flows through a landscape of rolling hills and fertile valleys. The water temperature in the Llapi varies notably throughout the year, typically ranging from about 3–5 °C in January and February to 20–23 °C in July and August. Spring months bring moderate warming as snowmelt from surrounding hills feeds the river, keeping it cool and clear. During summer, the temperature rises enough to make wading or short swims possible, though the flow remains fairly strong in some sections.
Swimming in the Llapi River is generally not common or officially encouraged, mainly due to variable currents, uneven depths, and occasional water quality issues near urban areas.
