*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Nišava River flows through both Bulgaria and Serbia, being a major tributary of the South Morava. While the river passes directly through the large city of Niš and the smaller town of Pirot, its water quality is often compromised by untreated wastewater, particularly in urban areas. Consequently, swimming in the Nišava is generally discouraged or prohibited in many parts due to sanitary concerns and the risk of water-borne illnesses. Although some residents occasionally use improvised, unregulated wild beaches along its banks, this is officially advised against and done at personal risk.
The Nišava is a cold-water river, especially in its upper courses in the mountains. In the winter months, from approximately November to March, water temperatures are very low, typically ranging from 2∘C to 7∘C, with the possibility of freezing. Even during the peak of summer, from July to August, the river temperature remains relatively cool compared to standing water bodies, usually in the range of 18∘C to 22∘C. This moderate temperature offers some potential for swimming, but the low water quality remains the main restrictive factor for public recreational use.
