** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Vidbol (Видбол) is a relatively small river in northwestern Bulgaria whose water temperature varies with season, local depth and flow, and recent weather. In winter the river commonly runs close to freezing, typically about 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) in open stretches; spring brings a gradual rise to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as snowmelt and rains warm the flow. During the warmest weeks of summer, shallower, slow-moving pools can reach approximately 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), while deeper or faster sections remain noticeably cooler. In autumn temperatures fall back into the 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) range as air temperatures drop and daylight shortens.
Swimming in the Vidbol is possible in summer in quieter, deeper sections where the current is mild, but it is not a formally managed bathing river with lifeguards or marked beaches in most places. Water quality and flow can change quickly after heavy rains, making some stretches muddy or more hazardous, and colder temperatures upstream limit comfortable swimming to a fairly brief summer period. Visitors should assess local conditions, avoid fast or shallow rocky channels, and treat any riverside swimming as unsupervised recreation that requires caution.
