*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Archar (Арчар) is a small river in northwestern Bulgaria that flows toward the Danube. Its water temperature varies considerably with the seasons and with local conditions such as depth, shading and recent weather. In winter the river commonly cools to around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring temperatures typically rise into the 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) range as snowmelt and rains feed the channel. Summer is when the warmest readings occur, often between about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) in sunlit, slower pools; very shallow stretches can warm a few degrees more during heat spells. In autumn the river usually drops back toward 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures fall.
Swimming in the Archar is not generally organized or officially supervised; there are few, if any, designated bathing areas or lifeguards, and routine water-quality monitoring for recreational bathing is limited. Locals sometimes wade or cool off in calmer sections during warm weather, but the river’s shallow channels, vegetation, muddy banks and potential agricultural runoff mean hygiene and safety can be concerns. Seasonal floods or low flows also affect usability. For those considering entering the water it is sensible to heed local signage or advice, avoid swimming after heavy rain and be aware that conditions can change along short stretches of the river.
