** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Topolovets (Тополовец) is a small river in Bulgaria whose water temperature follows the continental seasonal pattern typical for lowland and foothill streams. In winter the water commonly falls to about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), often near freezing in cold spells. During spring melt and rainfall the river warms gradually to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), while in summer the shallow, sun-exposed stretches can reach approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days. In autumn the temperature usually drops back to around 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures decline and flows increase.
Swimming in the Topolovets is not typically managed by formal authorities and there are no widespread official bathing zones, so whether it is allowed depends on local rules and conditions; informal swimming is possible in summer when temperatures are highest and depth permits. Caution is advised because variable flow, shallow areas, submerged hazards, limited water quality monitoring, and the absence of lifeguards can make swimming risky even at comfortable temperatures. For safety and legality it is best to observe local signage, check current water quality and flow, and avoid entering the river in spring floods or cold conditions when hypothermia is a real concern.
