Lake Ylä-Enonvesi, located in South Savo in eastern Finland, is part of the Heinävesi waterway and belongs to the Saimaa lake system. The lake is surrounded by forested hills and small islands, and its clean, clear waters are typical of the region’s natural beauty. The water temperature in Ylä-Enonvesi varies significantly with the seasons. After the ice melts in late April or early May, the surface temperature is around 4–7 °C (39–45 °F). During early summer, it rises to 13–16 °C (55–61 °F), and in July, the warmest month, it generally reaches 18–22 °C (64–72 °F). In shallow and sheltered areas, the temperature can occasionally exceed 23 °C (73 °F). By late September, it cools below 10 °C (50 °F), and the lake typically freezes again by November.
Swimming in Lake Ylä-Enonvesi is allowed and popular during summer. The water is clean and suitable for bathing, and the peaceful surroundings provide ideal conditions for outdoor recreation.
