*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Øyeren is a large, shallow lake in what was formerly Akershus County in Norway, known locally as Øyeren. Water temperatures vary markedly through the year: in midsummer (July–August) surface temperatures typically reach about 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and on warm days can approach 24 °C (75 °F). Late spring and early summer (May–June) are cooler, commonly 6–15 °C (43–59 °F), while early autumn (September–October) usually sees temperatures fall to around 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). In winter the lake is near freezing, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where it is not ice-covered; some winters parts of Øyeren freeze solid.
Swimming at Øyeren is generally allowed because of Norway’s public right of access and the many open shorelines, and many people swim there in summer when temperatures are comfortable. Water quality and local conditions can vary, however: shallow, reed-lined areas may warm faster but also experience algal growth in late summer, and there are no widespread lifeguarded beaches, so swimmers should choose sheltered spots, be aware of boat traffic, and check local advisories for blooms or contamination before entering the water.
