*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Veliko Blato, located near Belgrade in the Pancevo marsh area, is a natural lake known for its shallow depth and ecological importance. The lake’s water temperature varies significantly throughout the year due to its exposure and low depth. In winter, the water cools quickly, usually staying between 1–4 °C (34–39 °F), and can partially freeze during cold periods. In spring, as temperatures rise, the lake warms rapidly to 12–16 °C (54–61 °F) by May. During summer, the shallow water heats up easily, often reaching 22–26 °C (72–79 °F) in July and August, and sometimes even higher on hot days. By autumn, the temperature gradually decreases below 15 °C (59 °F).
Swimming in Veliko Blato is not officially allowed, as the lake is primarily designated as a protected natural area due to its birdlife and wetland ecosystem. The water quality varies seasonally and is not regularly maintained for recreational use. While some locals occasionally enter the water during the hottest months, it is not recommended for bathing because of muddy shores and ecological restrictions. Instead, Veliko Blato serves as a habitat for numerous bird species and an attraction for nature observation rather than swimming or water sports.
