Location & Local Information
Bešenovo Lake, also known as Bešenovačko Jezero, is located in northern Serbia near the village of Bešenovo in the Fruška Gora region. It was formed in an old quarry and is now surrounded by green slopes and forested hills. The lake is relatively deep, which influences its temperature throughout the year. In spring, the water temperature usually ranges from 10 to 15 °C, while in summer it warms to 22–26 °C, occasionally reaching 27 °C near the surface. In autumn, it cools to around 14–18 °C, and in winter it drops below 5 °C, with possible ice forming in colder periods. Its clear water and scenic setting make it one of the most attractive lakes in Vojvodina.
Swimming in Bešenovo Lake is allowed and very popular during the summer months, especially in July and August when the water is comfortably warm. The lake’s clean water and gradual depth make it suitable for recreational bathing. However, since the lake was originally a quarry, the depth increases quickly in some areas, so swimmers are advised to stay close to the shore. The lake is also a favored spot for diving, fishing, and picnicking, offering a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the nature of Fruška Gora.
