Rovni Lake, located near Valjevo in western Serbia, is an artificial reservoir surrounded by forested hills and clean mountain air. The lake receives water from the Jablanica River and smaller mountain streams, which keep its temperature relatively cool. In spring, the water temperature ranges between 10 and 15 °C, while during summer it gradually warms to 21–25 °C, depending on the depth and weather. In autumn, it cools to around 14–18 °C, and in winter it often drops below 5 °C, especially in deeper zones. The clarity and stability of temperature make Rovni Lake attractive for both observation and recreation.
Swimming in Rovni Lake is allowed in designated areas, particularly during summer when the water reaches pleasant temperatures. Local residents and visitors often swim and sunbathe along its shores, enjoying calm and clean conditions. However, due to varying depths and the artificial nature of the reservoir, swimming outside marked places is not recommended. The lake also serves as a water supply source, so certain zones are protected.
