** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake of Unden (Swedish: Unden) in Örebro County follows the typical temperature pattern of small inland Swedish lakes. In spring the surface waters usually range from about 4 to 12 °C (39 to 54 °F) as the ice breaks up and the sun begins to warm the shallows. During summer, surface temperatures commonly sit between 18 and 22 °C (64 to 72 °F) and can reach around 24 °C (75 °F) on warm, calm days. In early autumn the water cools back to roughly 6 to 12 °C (43 to 54 °F), and in winter the lake is often close to freezing with surface temperatures near 0 to 2 °C (32 to 36 °F) under ice cover.
Swimming in Unden is generally allowed, reflecting Sweden’s public right of access (allemansrätten) and the presence of informal and municipal bathing spots around many lakes. In summer months the temperatures are comfortable for recreational swimming, though local conditions such as water quality advisories, algal blooms in late summer, or private shoreline restrictions can affect access. In winter the ice can permit ice swimming only where maintained and safe; otherwise swimming is not recommended because of the risk posed by near‑freezing water and unstable ice. Always follow local guidance on bathing areas and safety.
