** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Halvarsnoren is a small lake in Örebro County and like many inland Swedish lakes its surface temperature varies markedly with the seasons. In spring, as snowmelt and cool air dominate, surface temperatures are often in the range of about 1–10 °C (34–50 °F). Summer brings the warmest conditions: typical daytime surface temperatures in June–August are roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), with occasional warm spells pushing the surface toward 24 °C (75 °F). In autumn the water cools again to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) before freezing occurs; during winter the lake is commonly at or just above freezing, about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice, while deeper layers remain colder.
Swimming at Halvarsnoren is generally possible and commonly practiced in summer, because Swedish access rights (allemansrätten) permit public access to many shorelines unless specifically restricted. However, local factors affect safety and suitability: water quality, submerged vegetation and sudden depth changes can limit comfortable swimming, and temperatures below about 15 °C (59 °F) increase the risk of cold shock and reduced swimming performance. In winter the ice cover makes open-water swimming unsafe except for experienced and well-prepared winter swimmers using designated spots. Always observe posted signs, local guidance and personal safety precautions before entering the water.
