*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Perućac Lake, located in western Serbia near the town of Bajina Bašta, is a large artificial reservoir on the Drina River, surrounded by the mountains of Tara National Park. Its water comes directly from the cold Drina and nearby mountain streams, which keep temperatures relatively low for most of the year. In spring, the water temperature usually ranges between 9 and 14 °C, while in summer it rises to around 18–23 °C, depending on depth and weather. During autumn, it cools again to about 12–16 °C, and in winter it often drops below 5 °C. The cold, clear water and significant depth make Perućac Lake distinct among Serbian lakes.
Swimming in Perućac Lake is officially allowed and popular during the warmest months, especially in July and August, when the surface water becomes comfortable. The lake has arranged beaches and floating platforms for bathers, and water quality is regularly monitored. However, since the lake is deep and cold in its central part, swimming is safest near the shore. The surroundings offer a mix of mountain air and clear waters, creating one of the most attractive summer destinations in western Serbia for swimming, boating, and relaxation.
