** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Pineios (Τεχνητή Λίμνη Πηνειού) is an artificial reservoir in the Peloponnese whose surface temperatures vary with the seasons and local weather. Typical winter surface temperatures range roughly from 5 to 12 °C (41 to 54 °F), spring sees gradual warming to about 10–20 °C (50–68 °F), summer surface waters commonly reach 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) on warm days, and autumn cools back to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F). These figures are approximate: shallow bays warm faster than deep sections and overnight or windy conditions can produce cooler readings. Thermal stratification can occur in summer, so deeper water may stay appreciably colder than the surface.
Swimming in the reservoir is subject to practical and regulatory considerations. Because this is a man-made lake used for water management, irrigation and sometimes potable supply, authorities often discourage or restrict bathing near dam structures, intakes and official infrastructure for safety and water-quality reasons; there can also be underwater hazards, sudden depth changes and no lifeguard service. Locals may swim from suitable shorelines during warm months, but it is advisable to follow posted rules, avoid restricted zones and be mindful of variable temperatures and currents when entering the water.
