** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Trichonida (Greek: Λίμνη Τριχωνίδα), the largest natural lake in Greece, exhibits seasonal temperature swings typical of a large freshwater basin in a Mediterranean climate. In winter the water tends to be cold, roughly 6–10 °C (43–50 °F). Spring brings gradual warming, with surface temperatures commonly in the range of 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). Peak warmth occurs in summer, when the lake often reaches about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) and can occasionally climb toward 28 °C (82 °F) during hot spells. In autumn the waters cool again to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F). Local weather, depth, and inflows influence these values, so temperatures can vary between shallow bays and deeper central areas.
Swimming in Trichonida is generally allowed and practiced by locals and visitors, particularly during the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable. Public access points, beaches and small waterfront settlements make recreational swimming feasible; the lake’s freshwater character and relatively calm conditions are appealing. However, there are no ubiquitous lifeguard services, and water quality, submerged vegetation and occasional boating activity mean swimmers should exercise normal precautions. Local advisories or signage occasionally restrict bathing in specific spots, so it is sensible to check conditions and follow municipal guidance before entering the water.
