** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kremasta Lake (Τεχνητή Λίμνη Κρεμαστών) is a large artificial reservoir in western Greece whose surface temperatures vary seasonally and locally. Typical surface temperatures in winter range from about 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), rising in spring to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). In summer sheltered bays and shallow areas commonly warm to around 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), occasionally reaching the upper 20s °C (around 79 °F) on hot days, while autumn sees a gradual drop back toward 12–20 °C (54–68 °F). Because the lake is extensive and relatively deep in places, water layers below the surface remain markedly colder year-round and temperature can change quickly with wind, inflows, and seasonal rains.
Recreational swimming is practiced at Kremasta in suitable spots and is generally allowed, but it is not regulated in the same way as organized beaches. Bathing near the dam, intake structures or busy boating areas is unsafe and often discouraged; local signage and municipal guidance should be followed. Water quality is typically good for swimming in many coves, yet swimmers need to be cautious about sudden depth changes, underwater currents, boat traffic and cold thermoclines that can cause shock. Always choose sheltered, monitored access points when possible and respect posted restrictions.
