*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kaiafas Lake (Λίμνη Καϊάφα) is a shallow coastal lagoon in the Peloponnese whose water temperature varies with the seasons but tends to warm noticeably in summer. Typical seasonal ranges are roughly 10–14 °C (50–57 °F) in winter, 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) in spring, 22–27 °C (72–81 °F) in summer, and 17–22 °C (63–72 °F) in autumn. Local thermal springs and the lake’s shallow basins can raise temperatures slightly in localized areas and provide milder conditions in shoulder seasons; conversely, wind and freshwater inflows can cool the surface on unsettled days. These figures are approximate and vary year to year with weather patterns.
Swimming is commonly permitted and practiced, especially along the sandy Kaiafas beach where conditions are suitable for bathing and monitored for safety; many visitors swim in summer when temperatures are most comfortable. However, parts of the lagoon and surrounding reedbeds are protected for wildlife, so access may be limited or discouraged to protect habitats and nesting birds. Bathing in designated areas is recommended for safety and environmental reasons, and visitors should follow local signs and seasonal advisories that reflect water quality, conservation rules, and occasional restrictions.
