** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Doxa (Λίμνη Δόξα) is a mountain reservoir in the Peloponnese whose water temperatures reflect its elevation and seasonal climate. Typical winter readings are very cold, roughly 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), and the lake can feel icy through early spring. Spring sees a gradual rise, often around 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as snowmelt and rainfall feed the basin. In mid to late summer, sheltered shallows warm to approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), making the water noticeably cooler than coastal spots but comfortable for short swims on warm days. During autumn the surface typically falls back to about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures drop and inflows increase.
Swimming at Lake Doxa is practiced by visitors and locals mainly in summer when the warmer bays are inviting, but it is not widely promoted as an organized bathing destination. The lake is a reservoir and part of a sensitive freshwater environment, so some areas may be restricted to protect water quality or infrastructure; there are also few formal facilities, no lifeguards, and variable underwater terrain. For these reasons, people who choose to swim should check local guidance, be mindful of cold water shock, and take basic safety precautions.
