** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Taka (Greek: Λίμνη Τάκα) in the Peloponnese is a small freshwater body whose surface temperatures follow a typical Mediterranean inland pattern. Annual surface temperatures usually range from about 8–27 °C (46–81 °F). Seasonally, winter water temperatures tend to sit around 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), spring warms to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), summer often reaches 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) in shallow zones, and autumn cools back to approximately 15–22 °C (59–72 °F). Local factors such as depth, shading, groundwater inflow and recent weather can shift these values: shallow bays warm fastest while deeper sections remain noticeably cooler.
Swimming in Lake Taka is commonly feasible during the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable for bathers, but whether it is officially allowed depends on local rules, conservation status and water quality. Some parts may be open to recreational use because of acceptable clarity and temperature, while others can be restricted to protect habitats, serve as water supply or because of safety concerns like sudden drop-offs, dense vegetation or occasional algal blooms. Visitors should check signage or contact local authorities before entering the water, avoid swimming after heavy rains, and be aware there may be no lifeguards or facilities on site.
