** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Marano Lagoon (Laguna di Marano) on the northern Adriatic coast of Friuli‑Venezia Giulia exhibits the moderate, seasonally variable temperatures typical of shallow coastal lagoons. Because much of the water is shallow and sheltered from open-sea swell, it warms relatively quickly in summer and cools in winter. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range roughly from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in winter, through 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in spring, to 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) at the height of summer, and then fall back to around 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) in autumn. Local conditions such as wind, freshwater inflows, and tidal exchange with the Adriatic can cause short‑term variations from these averages.
Swimming in the Marano Lagoon is commonly practiced, especially in summer when temperatures are comfortable for bathing, and there are local beaches and sheltered spots suitable for families. At the same time, not every area is appropriate: parts of the lagoon are protected habitats, shellfish‑farming zones, or navigable channels with boat traffic, and therefore may be closed or discouraged for swimming. Water quality is monitored by local authorities and rules or seasonal bathing advisories can apply, so visitors should follow signage and local guidance before entering the water.
