** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Fusine Lakes (Laghi di Fusine) in Friuli‑Venezia Giulia are high‑alpine lakes fed by snowmelt and mountain springs, so their water stays relatively cold for most of the year. Typical seasonal surface temperatures run from near freezing in winter (about 0–4 °C, 32–39 °F) through cool spring values (roughly 4–14 °C, 39–57 °F). The warmest period is usually midsummer, when readings can reach about 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) on the sunniest days, though cool nights and inflow of cold water keep temperatures lower than lowland lakes. In autumn the water cools again to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), and the lakes often ice over in the coldest months.
Swimming at the Fusine Lakes is physically possible in summer, but it is often discouraged for both safety and environmental reasons. The low temperatures can cause cold‑water shock and hypothermia even on warm days, and there are no lifeguards or extensive safety facilities. In addition, parts of the area are protected and visitors are asked to respect signage and local rules that may limit bathing to avoid disturbing habitats. Anyone choosing to swim should take precautions, stay close to shore, check local notices, and be prepared for very cold water.
