Lake Siutghiol (in Romanian - Limanul Siutghiol) is a shallow coastal lagoon in south‑east Romania whose water temperature varies noticeably with the seasons. In spring surface temperatures typically rise from about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as the weather warms, while summer often brings the warmest conditions with averages around 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) in July and August. Early autumn sees a gradual cooling to roughly 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) depending on sunny days and wind, and winter temperatures commonly fall to near freezing or a few degrees above, around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), when ice or very cold conditions may occasionally occur in sheltered spots.
