*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacul Goloviţa, part of the Razim–Sinoe lagoon complex in south‑east Romania, shows marked seasonal variation in water temperature because it is shallow and influenced by both freshwater inflows and occasional sea exchange. In spring the surface water typically ranges from about 6–16 °C (43–61 °F) as the lake warms after winter. Summer brings the warmest conditions, with common temperatures of 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) in July and August and occasional localized spots reaching slightly higher on calm, sunny days. Autumn sees a gradual cooling to roughly 8–18 °C (46–64 °F), while winter temperatures can fall near freezing, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in especially cold periods. These ranges vary with weather, wind, and the lake’s hydrological connection to surrounding waterways.
Swimming in Lacul Goloviţa is physically possible during the warmer months but is subject to practical and regulatory caveats. Because parts of the lagoon system lie within sensitive wetland and Danube Delta areas, some zones are protected and public bathing may be restricted to reduce disturbance to wildlife and to protect water quality. Additionally, shallow depths, aquatic vegetation and occasional eutrophication events can affect hygiene and safety, so local signage, seasonal water‑quality reports and any rules from reserve authorities should be checked before entering the water.
