** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Limanul Sinoe, a shallow brackish lagoon on Romania’s southeast coast near the Danube Delta, shows pronounced seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In spring (March–May) temperatures typically range from about 6–16 °C (43–61 °F) as the lagoon warms after winter. Summer (June–August) brings the warmest conditions, commonly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) and occasionally higher on hot spells. Autumn (September–November) sees a gradual cooling to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In winter the water can fall toward freezing, around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), though complete ice cover is uncommon because of the lagoon’s connection to the sea and shallow mixing.
Swimming in the Sinoe lagoon is possible in accessible shoreline spots and is practiced locally during warm months, but it is not always the same as bathing at organized beaches. Water is brackish and shallow with soft, silty bottoms, limited facilities, few lifeguards and sometimes aquatic vegetation or algal patches that affect comfort and water clarity. Parts of the Razim–Sinoe complex are subject to environmental protections and local rules, so while informal swimming is often allowed, visitors should heed signage, respect protected zones and be cautious about water quality and safety.
