** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Dižiere in Latvia experiences the temperate seasonal cycle typical of inland Baltic lakes. In spring (April–May) the water commonly ranges from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as runoff and cooler air temperatures keep the lake chilly. By summer (June–August) the surface usually warms to roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), with peak afternoons occasionally a few degrees higher on warm years. In autumn (September–October) temperatures typically fall back to around 7–14 °C (45–57 °F) as cooling air and shorter days prevail. In winter the lake commonly freezes over at times; where open water persists the temperature is near 0–1 °C (32–34 °F), but much of the season is ice-covered rather than suitable for ordinary swimming.
Swimming in Dižiere is generally possible during the ice-free months when water quality and local conditions are acceptable. There is no inherent prohibition on recreational bathing in most Latvian lakes, but access, safety measures and any municipal rules vary by site; algal blooms, water clarity or municipal advisories can temporarily make swimming undesirable or restricted. Because lifeguards are not always provided and temperatures can change rapidly, swimmers should heed posted warnings, avoid swimming alone, and be aware that cooler spring and autumn waters increase the risk of cold shock even if the surface air feels mild.
