*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Lielauces, like many small inland Latvian lakes, experiences marked seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In winter the lake commonly freezes and sub-ice water temperatures sit close to 0–2 °C (32–35.6 °F). During spring the surface warms gradually, typically ranging from about 2–12 °C (35.6–53.6 °F) as ice melts and runoff cools the water. Summer brings the warmest conditions, with surface temperatures generally in the 16–23 °C (60.8–73.4 °F) band and shallow bays occasionally reaching 24–25 °C (75.2–77 °F) on hot, calm days. In autumn the lake cools again, with temperatures often falling back to roughly 8–14 °C (46.4–57.2 °F) before ice formation.
Swimming at Lake Lielauces is possible and commonly undertaken in the warmer months, provided local rules and water-quality advisories are respected. There are usually no blanket prohibitions on bathing, but safety and suitability depend on factors such as shore access, weather, clarity, algal growth and the presence of lifeguards. Ice swimming or winter bathing should only be done at designated, prepared spots with supervision and appropriate equipment because of thin ice and hypothermia risk. It is sensible to check local notices or municipal guidance for current water-quality reports and permitted swimming areas before entering the water.
