Lake Plastiras (Λίμνη Πλαστήρα) is an artificial mountain reservoir in Thessaly whose water temperatures are noticeably cooler than lowland or coastal seas because of its elevation and forested surroundings. Seasonal surface temperatures in winter typically sit around 2–6 °C (36–43 °F), rising in spring to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In summer the lake can warm to approximately 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) at popular shallow spots, with short-lived highs in heat waves, while autumn temperatures generally range from 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as the water cools again.
