*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Grabovičko Lake, or Grabovica, is an artificial reservoir created on the Neretva River near Jablanica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for its deep emerald-green color. As a deep, dam-fed accumulation, its water temperature is significantly influenced by the cold Neretva. While the surface layer can warm up during summer, the deep layers remain consistently cold. Typically, the water temperature ranges from around 7∘C to 10∘C in winter, rising to a surface temperature of 18∘C to 22∘C in July and August, although temperatures drop sharply below the surface.
Swimming in Grabovičko Lake is generally allowed and popular during the warmest summer months, particularly at accessible spots and small beaches. However, swimmers must exercise great caution. The lake presents inherent dangers, including sudden deep drop-offs, underwater currents, and the significant temperature difference between the surface and the deep, colder layers. While the warmer surface water provides a pleasant initial experience, the underlying cold can quickly shock the body and cause cramps, posing a risk even to strong swimmers.
