Krenica Lake, located near the town of Grude in western Herzegovina, is a small natural karst lake surrounded by fields and limestone hills. Because of its position in a warm Mediterranean-influenced climate, the lake experiences mild winters and warm summers. In winter, the water temperature usually ranges from 6 to 9°C, while in spring it rises to about 12–16°C. During the summer, especially in July and August, the temperature reaches 22–26°C, and in some shallow parts even up to 28°C. In autumn, it gradually cools again to around 14–18°C.
Swimming in Krenica Lake is allowed and quite popular among locals. The water is calm, clear, and comfortably warm during the summer season, providing excellent conditions for bathing and recreation. The surrounding area is peaceful, with easy access to the shore, making it suitable for families and visitors seeking relaxation in nature. Although there are no large organized beaches, natural swimming areas exist around the lake.
