Water Temperature: Daily Trends, Historical Records, and Forecast
❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 47°F (8°C) to 50°F (10°C). This is still cool water, suitable only for experienced swimmers or those accustomed to cold water. Swimming in such conditions is possible, but not recommended for prolonged periods. Extra caution should be taken during extended exposure, as the cold water can cause heat loss and lead to hypothermia. For added comfort, special clothing can be used. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Apshynets Lake is a high-altitude reservoir in Zakarpattia, located in the Svydovets mountain range, known for its pristine beauty. Like most glacial-origin lakes at significant elevations, it is primarily fed by mountain streams and precipitation. Consequently, the water temperature in the lake remains consistently low. Even in the height of summer, on the warmest days, the surface layer of the water rarely exceeds +12∘C (often staying between +10 and +13∘C), which makes it quite icy for casual swimming.
Given the low water temperature and the lack of developed infrastructure, the swimming opportunities in Apshynets Lake are extremely limited and suitable only for very hardened individuals or for brief dips. The primary type of recreation here is ecotourism, camping, and enjoying the wild nature, rather than beach leisure. The lake, although relatively small (about 1.2 hectares in area, maximum depth 3.3 m), attracts tourists with its purity and picturesque views.
Apshynets is often called Troyaska due to its proximity to the peak of the same name. It is an ideal spot for those seeking silence and solitude away from civilization. The absence of nearby cafes, shops, and car access confirms its status as a wild, unspoiled recreational area where swimming is more of an extreme experience than a relaxing activity.
