Salt Lake Kunigunda, located in the Zakarpattia region of western Ukraine, is a small but remarkable natural salt lake formed in the area of former salt mines near Solotvyno. The water here is highly mineralized, rich in salts and trace elements, which gives it a noticeable buoyancy similar to that of the Dead Sea. Because of its composition, the water warms up quickly in the summer months — by late May it can reach 20–22°C, and in July and August often rises to 25–28°C. The surface temperature is especially high on calm, sunny days, while deeper layers remain slightly cooler.
Swimming in Lake Kunigunda is a unique experience due to the high salt concentration. The water easily supports the body, allowing you to float effortlessly. Many people come here not only to swim but also for therapeutic purposes, as the salty water and mud are believed to have beneficial effects on the skin and joints.
