*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Maricheyka Lake is a high-mountain lake situated in the Chornohora range of the Carpathians at about 1,510 meters above sea level. Because of its altitude and small size (roughly 88 by 45 meters, with a shallow maximum depth of around 0.8 meters), the water remains cold even in the height of summer. On hot days, surface temperature might rise a little—perhaps into the low teens (around 12–15 °C)—but deeper parts stay chilly. The lake is fed by subsurface springs and precipitation, which helps keep the water fresh but limits how warm it can get.
As for bathing, Maricheyka is not a typical swimming destination. Its shallow depth and cold temperature make long stays in the water uncomfortable for most. However, adventurous hikers and nature lovers sometimes dare short dips or foot cooling near the shore. The muddy, slippery bottom and absence of built infrastructure (such as beaches or piers) mean that any swimming is informal and requires caution. The real appeal of the lake lies in its wild beauty, clear water, and high-mountain atmosphere rather than in warm, comfortable swimming.
