Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Berane is a town in northeastern Montenegro, situated on the banks of the Lim River, which flows through the mountainous landscape of the Sandžak region. The Lim originates in the Prokletije mountains, so its water is generally cold and clear throughout the year. In spring, the temperature ranges between 8 and 13 °C, while in summer it rises to 17–22 °C, occasionally reaching 23 °C in shallower and calmer parts near Berane. In autumn, the river cools to 12–16 °C, and in winter it drops below 5 °C, with mountain snowmelt keeping it fresh and brisk. The river’s clean flow and scenic valley make it a key natural feature of the region.
Swimming in the Lim River near Berane is possible during the summer months, although the water remains cool even on the warmest days. Locals sometimes swim in calmer stretches where the current is weaker and access to the riverbanks is easy. The Lim is more popular for rafting, kayaking, and fishing than for extended bathing because of its cold and fast-flowing water. Nonetheless, during July and August, it offers refreshing swimming conditions for those who enjoy the invigorating mountain waters of northeastern Montenegro.
