While the water is characteristically cold due to its mountainous source, swimming is commonly practiced and permitted in designated urban spots, such as Galeb beach beneath the Millennium Bridge. The Morača's water temperature varies significantly with the seasons. During the cool months from October to May, the river remains frigid, generally ranging between 10∘C and 14∘C, which is unsuitable for recreational swimming. Only in the heart of summer, typically in July and August, does the water warm up to its highest seasonal range of approximately 19∘C to 24∘C in its calmer lower course. Visitors should be mindful of strong currents and should exercise caution, as the river is not a controlled swimming facility.
