The Sora River flows through the Gorenjska region in northern Slovenia, joining the Sava near Medvode. Originating in the pre-alpine hills, its water is clear and typically cool, even during the summer months. In hot weather, the temperature may rise enough to feel refreshing and pleasant, but it generally remains on the cooler side compared to lowland rivers.
