Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Ljubljanica River flows through the heart of Slovenia, including the capital city Ljubljana, and is known for its calm current and urban charm. Because it is a lowland river, the water warms up more in summer compared to mountain rivers. During the warmest months, from June to August, surface temperatures typically reach 20–24°C in slower sections, making swimming comfortable in select spots. In spring and autumn, the water is cooler, around 12–16°C, while in winter it drops to 4–6°C.
Swimming in the Ljubljanica is limited and mostly done in quieter, less urbanized stretches. In the city, bathing is generally discouraged due to safety concerns and water quality, but upstream or in designated areas, a refreshing dip is possible. The river also attracts people for canoeing, kayaking, and floating activities during summer.
Outside the peak summer months, swimming is uncommon due to cooler water and occasional stronger currents. The river remains popular for walking along its banks, cycling, and enjoying cafés and parks nearby. Even a brief summer dip in calmer areas can provide a pleasant escape from the heat.
