Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Kamnik Bistrica River flows from the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, which gives it a distinct alpine character. Fed by springs and snowmelt, its water is cold throughout most of the year, rarely warming above the low teens in Celsius even during summer heatwaves. For this reason, the river is more known for its clarity and refreshing chill than for comfortable swimming. Dipping into it can be invigorating, but prolonged swimming is challenging due to the low temperatures.
As for bathing opportunities, the Kamnik Bistrica is best suited for short, refreshing plunges rather than recreational swimming. Some deeper pools and calm stretches appear along its course where people can briefly immerse themselves, especially on hot summer days when the icy water feels revitalizing. However, the river’s rocky bottom and strong current in certain places mean that caution is always advised. More often, visitors enjoy resting by its banks or cooling their feet after hiking in the nearby mountains.
