*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Liqeni i Bovilles (Bovilla Reservoir) typically has cool water that varies with the seasons and local weather. Surface temperatures in winter often sit around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), while spring brings gradual warming to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In summer the surface can reach approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days, though deeper water remains noticeably colder. Autumn sees a steady decline, with temperatures commonly between about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These figures are approximate: actual temperatures depend on recent air temperatures, inflows from mountain streams, depth at the location and daily sunlight, and thermal stratification can keep lower layers much cooler than the surface.
Swimming at Bovilla is generally not permitted and is strongly discouraged because the reservoir serves as a primary drinking-water source for the Tirana area and is subject to protections and regulations aimed at preventing contamination. Beyond legal and environmental reasons, safety concerns also apply — cold water, steep or rocky shores and variable currents can pose hazards even to experienced swimmers. Although people occasionally enter the water at unofficial spots, access is restricted in many areas and visitors are advised to respect signage and local rules to protect both public health and the water supply.
